Apart from the fact I was probably the only person from a recruitment firm at the exhibition this week, the Northern Manufacturing & Electronics Exhibition 2017 was an exciting affair. Not looking to promote our services to potential clients, many were a little confused as to why a representative from a recruitment firm was there. My answer? I wanted to learn, we as a company wanted to learn and become even more knowledgeable about the industry that we serve. For us to understand our clients better and to know what recruitment challenges to expect in the future…. How many other recruiters do you know that would go that far to be the best in their industry?
Whilst it’s clear that the fundamental basis of these exhibitions is for various companies to show off their wares and gadgets to potential customers, it was also an excellent opportunity to discuss the future of the industry with like-minded individuals as well as listening to some of the insightful talks that were held over the course of the 2 days.
The prevalence of technology at the show was clear to see, the latest CNC machines, robotics, 3D printers, machine parts and logistics all intent on embracing the future tech that will shape the industry in years to come. Many exhibitors were positive about the future, despite some of the gloomy predictions of Brexit.
Equally impressive as the displays were the talks. Informative and thought provoking, they helped paint a picture of an integrated future in which technology will help increase productivity and reduce costs. They helped shed light on future LEAN processes, supply chains, compliance and other major changes that will affect manufacturing over the coming years. Despite the predicted changes in the industry, the talks were positive, painting a picture of the future that I can’t wait to see (and write about).
After 2 days of looking at displays and eating the tasty treats they had on offer (that was a bonus, I was genuinely there for the displays!) the exhibition was over. Armed with hand-outs, catalogues and magazines courtesy of the exhibition I made my way home safe in the knowledge that not only do I have plenty of reading material for the near future, but that I’ll definitely be returning here next year to see where we think the industry is heading.
I'd also like to take the chance to thank you for all your help during my time with Ambitek. I have always been paid on time and any worries I had were sorted out incredibly quickly either by yourself or your colleagues. Thank you for making my time as a contractor as painless as possible. I would certainly have no qualms about being employed by your agency again sometime in the future. Although obviously not any time soon!!!!
I contacted Ambitek last year about employment. They quickly responded and helped me get a job! I now have a full time job thanks to Ambitek and their staff. They have always paid me on time and have always been there to help me if I needed any advice! Now me and my family are doing great all thanks to Ambitek.
