Our client, a pioneering organization within the solar panel industry, seeks an Accounts Controller (AC) who will oversee and ensure compliance of the company’s financial data.
You will be responsible for accounts payable and receivable, payroll, daily financial entries, and reconciliations. There will also be a requirement to provide management accounts on a monthly basis, along with weekly updates on income/outgoing projections and actuals.
The role requires the ability to effectively communicate with: the client base, suppliers, colleagues and the Senior Management team (SMT). you will be expected to communicate recommendations, to the SMT, to ensure business success.

Responsibilities
Financial Management:
Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger activities.
Ensure timely and accurate recording of financial transactions.
Conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
Collaborate with department heads to develop and manage budgets.
Prepare accurate and timely financial forecasts.
Monitor budget performance and provide insights to support decision-making.
Compliance and Reporting:
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
Generate financial reports for management review.
Prepare documentation for audits and liaise with auditors as needed.
Process Improvement:
Identify opportunities for process improvement within the finance function.
Implement best practices to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
Team Collaboration:
Work closely with the colleagues to achieve departmental goals.
Provide guidance and support to junior staff members.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; preferred but not essential
Proven experience as a Controller or similar role
Proficient in using accounting software such as Xero(preferable), QuickBooks, or Sage
Strong knowledge of financial management principles and practices
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in financial reporting
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
Proficient in accounting software and MS Excel.
Responsible for updating and maintaining information systems on LMS,
Work safely in adherence to company Health and Safety policy and efficiently at all times,
Operate any Machinery you are requested to do so in line with your qualifications and training,
Maintain KPIs in line with Business requirements,
Other tasks as deemed necessary and within scope of role by Senior Management.

Essential requirements
Accounting/Bookkeeping: 4 years experience minimum,
GCSE C or above: Maths and English ,
Fluent at written and spoken English,
IT awareness, competent knowledge and user of Microsoft Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Project Management software,
Excellent communication (verbal, written and digital) and interpersonal skills.
Desirable requirements
Electrics and or Solar knowledge/background,
Good local and national geographical knowledge,
Driving License (clean and in date).
