Our client is currently recruiting for a Proposals Engineer to support the sales division due to an increase in inquiries. Working alongside a Sales & Estimating team you will need to assist and understand the client's requirements in order to devise a suitable engineering solution for the client's request.

The Role:
-Prepare process flow diagrams, General Arrangements, and layout concept drawings and Technical Specifications
-Contact various suppliers and sub-contractors to gather accurate pricing and supporting technical information for all project requirements from fabrication and manufacture,
specialist equipment sourcing, process control, Installation, and commissioning etc.
-Gather and collect information to compile a standard excel cost sheet for review.
-Assist with the preparation of the technical proposal from the information you have gathered.

The Individual:
-Ideally held a previous role in the sales and estimating department of an Engineering company for 2 years' or more
-Have an understanding and experience of materials handling systems utilising various conveying methods, bulk storage solutions, and bulk material characteristics would be a distinct advantage but not essential
-Proficient in Microsoft word and excel
-Good communication skills with both team members and clients
-Previous use of AutoCAD or CAD-based packages.
-Ability to work in a fast paced environment and a busy working atmosphere.

Essential requirements:
-Word & Excel proficient
-Excellent communication skills and a professional manner
-Reliable & punctual
-Desire and ability to achieve deadlines
-Ability to interpret technical specifications & Drawings
-Proficiency with 2D CAD based packages (ideally AutoCAD)

Desired requirements:
-Materials handling experience and background
-Previous experience in a sales / estimating role
-HNC/HND in an engineering discipline
-Experience of commercial contract interpretation
