The surface ships systems and equipment business sector is currently seeking an Electrical and Control Engineer to work on defence contracts, producing plant control and IT systems for test rig and material handling applications.

The work will be based in Leicester; however time may also be spent at other offices nationwide and those of the customer.

Main activities and responsibilities will include:-

- Detailed design and specification of PLC based Electrical and Control Systems.
- Production of schematic diagrams and control panel layouts.
- Production of specifications and engineering documents.
- Generations of specifications at all levels.
- Interfacing of control systems.
- Liaison at all levels with customers and suppliers.

Successful candidates will be highly motivated and organised, with a structured approach to working, and capable of working in and leading a team environment. Candidates will possess excellent communication skills, enabling effective liaison with other engineering disciplines, and with the client at a high level

Candidates must be familiar with working in a naval, secure environment and fully understand the requirements relating to information and physical security, and have:

- Experience of electrical design of control systems for marine and industrial environments.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD electrical.
- HNC or above + 3 years minimum experience .
- Good working knowledge and understanding of PLC and safety system architecture and software for plant control.
- Understandings of PLC applications for plant control.
- Good knowledge and understanding of electrical engineering for medium and low voltage power distribution systems, motor starter panels and PLC Systems.

The rate of pay is £30- £45 PAYE rates, dependent on experience, working a 37 hour week from Monday to Friday. You will receive 33 days holiday per year.
