Wage £16phr for someone who is unfamiliar with the milling tooling but has a knowledge of tooling and £18 for someone who has instant knowledge of the milling tooling

Hours of work/shifts- days 39hrs /week

Job Description

The tooling technician is responsible for the overall management of the tool stores, for assembling the tools, measuring their length and diameter on a tool pre-setter and issuing the machines.

Candidate experience/qualities required

A good knowledge of the various types of machine tooling used such as drilling tools, milling tools, boring tools. Etc

A neat and organised mind

The ability to work unsupervised

To be conscientious and take responsibility for all aspects of the job

Tooling Technician duties

Assembling cnc machine tooling

Issuing tool numbers

Measuring tool lengths and diameters on a tool pre setter

Ensuring tools are stored correctly and kept in good order

Managing the spares for the various types of tools used

Managing the indexable inserts required for the tools used

Sending tools for regrinding when required

Ensuring that the tool stores are kept in an orderly and tidy fashion
