Maintenance Manager

Our client are a medium sized engineering firm who are looking to recruit a maintenance manager to join the team.

The Main Tasks of the Role are Outlined Below:-

Lead the Site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Responsible for planned scheduled maintenance and ensuring the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.

Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, minimise downtime, manage and implement improvement plans, drive Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to.

Implement and manage continuous improvement and modem manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training working practices and processes.

Responsibilities

Develop maintenance procedures and ensure communication and implementation of
daily, weekly, monthly operator checks underpinned with safe operating procedures.

Carry out inspections of the facilities to identify and resolve any issues
Check electrical and pneumatic systems of buildings to ensure functionality
Plan and oversee all repair and installation activities
Monitor and maintain an appropriate inventory of consumables for machine servicing and general repairs, sourcing and raising POs where necessary
Implement training and education to enhance employee development and continue job performance improvement
Comply with and implement Health and Safety policies and procedures
Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance
Manage relationships with contractors and service providers
Keep maintenance logs and report on daily activities

Ability to apply exceptional time management.

Ability to analyse and present data.
Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to communicate with all levels of management and hourly employees.
Strong organisational skills.
Demonstrates leadership ability, conflict resolution.
Ability to delegate assignments, supervise and train employees in order to meet deadlines.
Good interpersonal skills, including tact and diplomacy are necessary to supervise employees in a fair and consistent manner.
Must be able to counsel, guide and evaluate the work of others in a manner that motivates the achievement of company goals.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Must be willing to travel.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.

Scope

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining the efficiency and effectiveness of all plant and equipment. They must combine a technical knowledge with business functions and operations management. They should be well organised, disciplined and self-motivated, with the capability to balance multiple priorities related to operations and organisation. He/she must be able to communicate with internal Company personnel as well as customers with equal effectiveness and professionalism.

Knowledge/Experience

Proven experience as Maintenance Manager or other managerial roles.
Experience in Laser / Waterjets although training will be given
Is familiar in working with KPI’s.
