Our client, based near Eccles, Manchester is looking to recruit a trainee cad/cam engineer. Full training provided. They are an innovative company with new contracts in the pipeline. The last 12 months have been their busiest period since they started over 10 years ago.
They recently won SME Business of the year.

Main job functions:

Your role will be the design, production, and preparation of sheetmetal parts using CAD, liaising with the workshop floor, and general office duties.

MAIN DUTIES

Duties/responsibilities (in order of priority)

Designing and producing sheetmetal parts for units.

Preparation of parts for the CNC machines.

Nesting of parts onto sheets, efficiently using the available space on the sheets.

Liaising with the shop floor workers about fitting of parts.

General office duties, such as answering emails and phone calls.
Commissioning of refrigeration systems and controls.

Assist wherever possible with the continued improvement and development of the department.

Particular aptitude/skill required

Industry experience in not necessary but candidates must have a willingness to learn, good communication skills and a degree of confidence. Full training on products and their application will be provided together with industry training. All levels of experience and qualifications will be considered, whether leaving school or higher education or with previous work experience.

FULL TRAINING PROVIDED INCLUDING ANY REQUIRED COURSES.

Suitable applicants must have a minimum 2 years work experience and be able to provide details of a recent work reference.
