Our Client, a large engineering company based in liverpool requires a Area Sales Engineer Role to support their ongoing external client base around the North West Areas liverpool and manchester.

Opportunity to develop and grow within the sales team. The candidate must be forward thinking, flexible and have the ability to independently drive the sales service forward they must have Sale experience in Manufacturing and Industrial sectors.

Type of Work Activities:

Implement the area sales and profit plan for the appropriate area territory, linked to the overriding company sales and margin strategies and convert this into profitable business performance from customers allocated to the appropriate area territory.
Provide account management for all accounts on the appropriate territory, which will include development plans for existing customers and a development plan to win and introduce new customers.
Monitor territory sales and margin activities and ensure actions appropriate to the area are taken to rectify any gaps between forecasted budget and actual performance by account and by area. (Initial data sets to be provided by the company on a monthly, quarterly and YTD basis)
Provide management with required reports, information, and feedback to contribute to the effective strategic planning, budgeting, and performance management of the business in agreed formats and within agreed timeframes.
To be the professional and consistent face ensuring the customers enjoy an excellent experience when they place their valued business.
Focused on meeting and/or exceeding the sales and profit forecasted budget for the area.
Engages with all customers to achieve the maximum available spend based on services the company offers.
Perseveres to overcome obstacles and look to recover from setbacks.
Accepts the need to review performance against business objectives to improve results/services. Takes responsibility for own actions and willing to be judged on results.
Provides accurate, quality results first time. Seeks clarification of targets to achieve results, is able to co-ordinate activities and resolve problems. Copes well with the unexpected.
Seeks and acts upon feedback from customers/clients.

Specific technical, specialised or professional knowledge needed
3 years face to face selling experience is ESSENTIAL

The minimum vocational/academic qualifications required
GCSE’s in English, Mathematics and a technical subject e.g. is ESSENTIAL

Proficiency in the use of any specialised equipment
Driving licence is ESSENTIAL

Professional qualifications required with the relevant level
A levels, NVQ’s level III, Highers, BTEC, Sandwich Course) is DESIRABLE

Knowledge and level of proficiency in the use of IT software packages required
Basic knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Should be able to use all three Microsoft packages to be able to write a report using word, understand a customer’s information presented in excel format and to be able for example insert prices and other information into a spreadsheet to send back to a customer. To have a rudimentary understanding of power point so the individual can work with the Sales Director to produce customer DESIRABLE

The client is ideally looking for someone who’s has come from an engineering background that’s moved into the Sales industry within Industrial and manufacturing sector.
